Path to Recovery: Amiran Abashydze After the Shelling in Kharkiv

Provided 300 000 грн

"Passenger Company" Branch
Manager

In June 2025, the Russian shelling of Kharkiv brought tragedy to the Mala Pivdenna Railway. Among the employees injured that day was Amiran Abashydze.

Amiran is 28 years old; he started his path on the railway in 2018. Many know him from his work at the Kyiv Children's Railway, where he went from being an industrial training instructor to the head. Since March 2025, Amiran has been working as a manager at the "Passenger Company".

As a result of the shelling, he sustained extremely severe injuries: shrapnel pierced his right femur and broke his pelvic bones, causing extensive soft tissue loss.

But in such a situation, the railway family did not leave their colleague alone.

In July, within the framework of the "Iron Family" support program, Amiran was provided with assistance of UAH 300,000. His home branch, "Passenger Company", also supported the employee by taking on the compensation of medical expenses. In addition to financial aid, colleagues repeatedly donated blood for Amiran when there was an urgent need.

Now Amiran is already recovering at home. His condition is stable, and doctors note positive dynamics. Another important and difficult stage lies ahead: after the wounds heal, a complex operation awaits him — implantation of the femur and joint replacement.

"Iron Family" is nearby and supports Amiran on this path to recovery.
