Ivan MOROZ
On August 20, 2026, Ivan Borysovych Moroz was killed while performing a combat mission in the Kramatorsk district of Donetsk region. His life was an example of principledness, a constant pursuit of self-improvement, and uncompromising love for Ukraine.
Ivan's life journey began in the city of Novomyrhorod in Kirovohrad region, and since 2002, his home has been in Smila. After graduating from Smila School No. 15 in 2007, he initially trained as a cook but never settled for that—he successfully graduated from the Smila Industrial and Economic College of Cherkasy State Technological University in 2021.
The formation of his active civic stance was directly linked to the events of the Revolution of Dignity: in 2014, Ivan was an active participant in EuroMaidan from the first to the last day, fighting for the European future of the country.
Ivan Borysovych dedicated over 11 years of his life to railway transport. In civilian life, he stood guard over the safety of infrastructure, working as a third-class shooter in the security team of the Taras Shevchenko Station, part of the Znamyanka Battalion of the Military Guard (a branch of the "Corporate Security Service" of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia").
With the onset of the full-scale war, despite having a legal right to deferment, Ivan consciously chose to go to the front as a volunteer. Mastering modern military affairs, he served as a drone operator in the UAV battalion of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He held the defense and performed extremely complex tasks in the hottest spots—near Dobropillia, Kramatorsk, and Druzhkivka.
Comrades and colleagues remember Ivan as an exceptionally bright, kind, and compassionate person, whose willingness to lend a helping hand was boundless.
The team of the Znamyanka Battalion of the Military Guard and the entire branch of the "Corporate Security Service" of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia" bows its head in memory of the fallen defender and expresses sincere condolences to Ivan's family, friends, and comrades.
Eternal memory to the Warrior and the Bright Person!
