Vitaliy Kislomed

The Kyiv Railway community and the entire family of Ukrzaliznytsia have suffered a heavy, painful loss. During a hostile missile strike, the life of a dedicated railway worker, experienced specialist, loving husband, father, and son was tragically cut short at his workplace.

Vitalii Hryhorovych was born on February 25, 1988, in the city of Bobrovytsia, Chernihiv region. From a young age, he dedicated his life to the steel highways. In 2007, after graduating from the Kyiv Higher Vocational School of Railway Transport, he joined the railway family, taking the position of assistant locomotive driver at the "Locomotive Depot Darnytsia" production unit of the "Locomotive Company" branch of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia."

For over two decades—21 years—Vitaliy Hryhorovych diligently devoted himself to locomotive operations. Throughout his career, he established himself as a highly professional, responsible, and reliable worker, someone who could always be counted on during the most challenging journeys. Colleagues remember him as an extraordinarily kind, sincere, and caring person, always ready to lend a hand, offer advice, and share responsibility with his team members. His humanity, dedication to his work, and high work ethic left a deep, bright mark in the hearts of all who had the honor of working alongside him.

On September 1, 2026, at 02:21, the railway worker's life was tragically cut short. Following a treacherous ballistic missile strike on the territory of the Darnytsia locomotive depot, the explosion occurred almost immediately after the air raid alert was declared. Vitalii Hryhorovych perished while heading to the shelter, remaining at his post until the last moments of his life.

In his civilian life, Vitaliy was a strong support and source of warmth for his family. He is survived by his parents, wife, daughter, and son. For his loved ones, this is an irreparable grief, a pain that cannot be soothed by any words.
