Assistance to Odesa Railway Workers Affected by the Natural Disaster
The abnormal downpour that hit Odesa and the region on September 30 became a true test for the city and its railway workers. In just 24 hours, over 220% of the monthly average precipitation fell, turning streets into rivers and leaving houses and vehicles underwater.

Tragically, the disaster claimed the lives of ten people. Among them was our colleague Yuliia Nefiodova, an employee of the Odesa Railway Signaling and Communications Service. Responsible, kind, and brave — this is how colleagues remember her. Yuliia is survived by her husband and seven-year-old son. We extend our deepest condolences to the family.
22 railway families suffered significant material losses. specifically, the floodwaters inundated the homes of Alla Kudriasheva, an electromechanic at the Odesa Signaling and Communications Division, and Iryna Chaban, an engineer at the Track Division. The water destroyed household appliances, furniture, and vehicles, leaving families without shelter and basic comforts. A commission from the regional branch arrived immediately to assess the damage and offer assistance.

Despite the severe weather, the railway did not stop. Service employees remained at their workplaces, ensuring train operations and helping passengers while the city was paralyzed. Thanks to their dedication, not a single train was cancelled.
Odesa Railway thanks everyone who persevered during these days. We are one family that supports each other in times of joy and hardship.
Together on the same track
