Mykhailo ZHYVOTENYUK
Mykhailo was born in the village of Machulnya, Ovruch district, Zhytomyr region. After studying at the Ovruch Vocational Technical School, where he obtained a qualification as a tractor driver, the young man learned the value of true labor on the land. In 2021, he tied his fate to the railway, starting work as a locksmith for the repair of rolling stock at the wagon maintenance point of the Ovruch station.
During his time working in the production unit of the station service of the regional branch "South-Western Railway" of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia," Mykhailo established himself as a highly skilled specialist of the 4th category. Colleagues remember him as an exceptionally kind, calm, intelligent, and balanced person. He never shied away from hard work, approached any task responsibly, and was not afraid of difficulties. His ability to perform complex tasks, sincerity, and humanity earned him deep respect in the team.
On September 15, 2022, Mykhailo joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine. As a true patriot and loyal son of his country, he did not hesitate to rise to defend his homeland from invaders.
On June 28, 2023, while carrying out a complex combat mission in the vicinity of the village of Luhivske in the Polohy district of Zaporizhzhia region, Mykhailo was killed. Until his last breath, he remained faithful to his military oath and the Ukrainian people, defending the independence and territorial integrity of Ukraine.
In civilian life, Mykhailo valued his family above all. In his free time, he always engaged in his favorite activities, being a caring father, a loving son and brother, and a loyal and sincere friend. He dreamed of a happy, peaceful life under a calm sky, but these plans were ruthlessly shattered by war.
Mykhailo is survived by his mother, brother, sister, and underage son, for whom his father will forever remain a model of true courage and honor.
The team of the Korosten region station service of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia" expresses its deepest condolences to Mykhailo's family and loved ones. We bow our heads low and pay our respects for his magnificent life feat. The bright memory of our colleague-hero will live forever in the hearts of railway workers.
Eternal glory to the Hero!
