Oleg BALAS

Oleg Oleksandrovych was born on October 6, 1970. His career was closely tied to railway transport, to which he dedicated 13 years of his life.

In recent years, he worked as an electromechanic in the first group of the Verkhovtseva electrical supply section of the regional branch "Dniprovsk Railway" (in this position since August 2024). Throughout his career, Oleg Oleksandrovych established himself as a diligent specialist who always performed his professional duties with dedication for the stable operation of the country's railway artery.

Oleg Oleksandrovych tragically lost his life on August 6, 2026, at his workplace while fulfilling his professional duty at the Erastivka station.

After the air raid alert was lifted, he, along with a colleague, was inspecting the site of a previous strike by an enemy drone, which had caused a fire in a locomotive and damaged infrastructure, preparing for recovery operations. At that moment, the treacherous enemy launched a second ballistic strike on the station. There was no new alarm signal, making the danger a fatal surprise.

Oleg Oleksandrovych will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew him as a kind, hardworking person, a true professional in his field, and a patriot of his work.
