Oleksandr AGANIN

On September 10, 2026, during a combat mission near the village of Zalivne in the Zaporizhzhia region, the life of Ukrainian defender, railway worker of the Donetsk Railway, Oleksandr Petrovych Hahinin, was tragically cut short. The warrior fell in battle for the freedom and independence of his homeland. He was 43 years old.

Oleksandr was born and raised in the city of Sloviansk in Donetsk region. In 2001, he began his career in railway transport as a locksmith for the repair of rolling stock at the technical maintenance point of the Sloviansk station. Later, he worked as a wagon inspector at the Kожushka O.M. station, and from 2025, he continued his diligent work in the production and technological division "Kramatorsk Station" of the regional branch "Donetsk Railway" of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia."

Over a quarter of a century of dedication to the steel tracks, Oleksandr Petrovych established himself as an exceptionally hardworking, initiative, and responsible specialist. Colleagues remember him as a person of extraordinary kindness and empathy—he was always ready to help anyone in need.

In civilian life, Oleksandr was sincere, open, and multifaceted: he was passionate about cinema, music, technology, and cars, and he genuinely loved traveling and the beauty of Ukrainian nature. His particular passion was caring for pets—he devotedly looked after animals and his best four-legged friend, a dog named Black.

On June 25, 2024, Oleksandr Hahinin was mobilized into the Armed Forces of Ukraine. With a weapon in hand, he bravely defended his native land and the eastern borders of the state, remaining faithful to his Oath until his last breath.

The fallen warrior is survived by his brother and nephew.

The team at Kramatorsk Station and the entire regional branch "Donetsk Railway" of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia" deeply mourns this bitter loss and expresses sincere condolences to Oleksandr's brother, nephew, family, and comrades.
