Oleksandr CHERNOSMAGA

On September 6, 2026, during a combat mission near the village of Chuykivka in the Shostka district of his native Sumy region, Senior Soldier Oleksandr Viktorovych Chernosmaka of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, a railway worker, lost his life. He gave his life defending the immediate border of his homeland and the freedom of Ukraine.

Oleksandr was born on January 23, 1980, in the city of Druzhba (Khutir-Mykhailivskyi) in the Sumy region. His journey in a large railway family began in 2000 as a trackman. Later, he acquired a new profession and, starting in 2006, dedicated himself to ensuring the reliability of railway communication, working as an electromechanic in the first group of the Konotop signaling and communication section.

Over 26 years of dedicated work on the railway, Oleksandr Viktorovych earned undeniable respect. Colleagues remember him as an exceptionally wise, balanced, and professional person. He possessed rare qualities: deep integrity, generosity, politeness, exceptional composure, and the ability to listen to others. His subtle optimism and cheerfulness always brought light even to the most challenging workdays.

On November 21, 2024, Oleksandr was mobilized into the Armed Forces of Ukraine and joined the border guard unit of the State Border Guard Service. On the front lines, he bravely and professionally delivered devastating blows to the occupiers, remaining loyal to his oath until his last breath.

In civilian life, he was a reliable support for his family. The fallen defender is survived by his wife and two sons.

The bright memory of his kindness, wisdom, and courage will forever live in our hearts.
