Anatoliy Drobina
Anatoliy Leonidovych Drobyna, a railway veteran, Chernobyl disaster liquidator, and a man with a big heart, passed away on March 6, 2026. His death was the result of yet another terrorist attack against the civilian population: on March 4, during the shelling of the village of Zatoka, an enemy missile exploded near his home. Despite the efforts of medical staff, Anatoliy's heart stopped two days later in the hospital. He was 62 years old.
Anatoliy Leonidovych was born on January 31, 1964, in Mykolaiv Oblast. His entire life was dedicated to protection and development:
After graduating from the Cherkasy Fire Technical School, he worked as a fire inspector. In 1986–1987, he participated in the liquidation of the Chernobyl disaster, risking his life for the future of the next generations.
Anatoliy joined the railway family in 2008. His experience on the railway spans nearly 18 years.
For a long time, he worked as a master in the operation and repair of complex mechanisms (drawbridge systems), and since 2023, he ensured traffic safety as a crossing guard at the Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi railway distance.
Colleagues remember Anatoliy as a person of exceptional discipline and kindness.
“He was always open, smiling, and sincere. A person who radiated calmness and reliability,” is how he is remembered at the railway distance.
Outside of work, Anatoliy Leonidovych was a true host. He found solace in gardening and viticulture, nurturing the land he loved so much. He was also an avid fisherman, cherishing moments of tranquility by the water.
The greatest wealth in Anatoliy's life was his family. Since 1985, he walked side by side with his wife, Larysa Opanasivna. He was a happy father of two sons and a proud grandfather of three grandchildren. His death is an irreparable blow to his large and close-knit family.
The team at the Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi railway distance of the Odesa Railway expresses its deepest condolences to his relatives and loved ones. Anatoliy Drobyna will remain in our memory as a model of courage, professionalism, and kindness.
Forever in our memory and honor to our colleague!
