Anatoliy HEZ
Anatoliy was born in Zaporizhzhia. He joined the railway in December 2004 as a repairman in the remote workshops of the Zaporizhzhia electrical supply division. Since December 2015, he worked as a 3rd category repairman in the same structural unit. He dedicated 20 years to his work on the railway.
He was mobilized into the Armed Forces of Ukraine on January 19, 2024. He fought in Donetsk. He was wounded twice—in May and July 2025.
Anatoliy died on October 14, 2025, while performing a combat mission in the Kramatorsk direction.
In his workplace, Anatoliy was respected for his exceptional skills. The head of the remote workshops, Yuriy Balyuta, said: “He was a true professional. He was well-versed in both locksmith and turning work; everything he touched turned out well. He could manufacture any part needed for servicing the contact network from metal. Diligent, conflict-free, very kind, he was friends with his colleagues, and his team respected him.”
Anatoliy's older brother, Pavlo, says that they were very close and always supported each other. “He was a very kind and compassionate person. He readily helped others—both with words and deeds, never refusing anyone. He was a caring son; we took turns looking after our elderly parents. We cared for each other like brothers, having been very close since childhood, always standing up for one another.”
Anatoliy is survived by his brother.
The team of the Zaporizhzhia electrical supply division deeply mourns this irreparable loss and extends heartfelt condolences to Anatoliy's brother and loved ones. We will remember our colleague as a true professional, a caring friend, and a son who bravely defended our land. Eternal memory.
