Oleksandr BEZRUKOV
Oleksandr Bezrukov was born in the city of Synelnykove in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast. In 1994, he began working on the railway as an assistant locomotive driver at the Lower Dnipro Locomotive Depot of the Dnipro Railway, later becoming a locomotive driver.
On May 4, 2022, Oleksandr was mobilized into the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served as a topographic surveyor operator in the artillery division of one of the military units of the Armed Forces.
50-year-old Oleksandr Bezrukov was killed on September 17, 2024, while performing a combat mission near the village of Kruhlyenke in the Kursk region. As a result of artillery shelling, he sustained multiple injuries to his chest.
A colleague, friend, and godfather of Oleksandr, Valeriy Synytsia, shares: “Sashko and I were not just members of the same locomotive crew (he was the driver, I was his assistant, and we drove freight trains to Chaplyne, Zaporizhzhia, and so on), but like two brothers who understood each other with half a word, half a glance. We had known each other since school, where Sashko's mother taught history, even though I am two years younger than him. Oleksandr was a man sent from God: honest, responsible, empathetic towards people, always ready to help in any situation—whether to give advice or just to do things together; he never refused anyone who asked for help. There are not many like him.
I baptized Artem, Sashko's younger son, and often visited him at home. Oleksandr could do everything with his own hands. Once, he made a tree out of 25-kopiyka coins and gifted it to me as a keepsake. I often think of him; without him, it feels like a piece of my heart has been torn away. The depot workers also remember Oleksandr, inquiring about his family and offering assistance. At work, my godfather was highly respected; when he died, he was buried as one would bury the most esteemed people. But Sashko was just that: like a star, he shone with his short life and then faded away.”
His wife, Olena, who is still struggling to cope with her husband's death, tearfully described Oleksandr: “He is the best person, husband, and father in the world.”
“He was responsible, decisive, confident in his abilities, brave, and a courageous warrior, a role model for his comrades,” noted the Synelnykove City Community.
The team at the Lower Dnipro Locomotive Depot expresses deep sorrow and heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, and loved ones of Oleksandr Bezrukov. We will forever keep the memory of our devoted colleague, who became a true Hero while defending Ukraine, in our hearts. Eternal glory!
