Oleksandr CHERESHNEVYI

Oleksandr Viktorovych was born on May 13, 1978, in the village of Stryhany. From a young age, he stood out for his hard work, responsibility, and sincerity. He started school at the age of five, attending Stryhany School and later Krupets School, which he graduated from in 1993. After obtaining his driver's license, he began his career in the reinforced concrete structures industry. Work never intimidated Oleksandr; he always performed his duties diligently and earned the well-deserved respect of his colleagues.

From June 1996 to December 1997, he served in the airborne troops in Zhytomyr.

In 2001, Oleksandr married Tetiana Vitaliivna. In their happy marriage, they had three daughters—Oleksandra, Diana, and Sofia. His family was his greatest pride, a source of strength and inspiration.

Oleksandr dedicated over 10 years of his life to working on the railway. In recent years, he worked as a guard in the production structural unit "Kyiv Distance" of the branch "Center for Construction and Installation Works and Operation of Buildings and Structures" of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia."

On August 28, 2014, during the most troubling time for the country, Oleksandr was mobilized into the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He devoted nearly twelve years of his life without hesitation to defending his homeland.

During his service, he progressed from a reconnaissance operator, squad commander, and driver-mechanic to a junior sergeant—commander of the evacuation section of the technical support of the airborne assault battalion.

For his conscientious, dedicated, and impeccable service to the Motherland, Oleksandr Chereshnevyi was awarded high state and departmental honors:

On June 2, 2026, Junior Sergeant Oleksandr Chereshnevyi was killed while performing a combat mission in the settlement of Pokrovske in the Synelnykove district of Dnipropetrovsk region. Until his last breath, he remained faithful to his military oath, the Ukrainian people, and his country.
