Oleksandr HOLUB
Oleksandr was born on June 30, 1976, and grew up in the village of Budky in the Zhmerinka district of Vinnytsia region. He graduated from Zhmerinka Vocational Technical School No. 1 and started working on the railway in August 1994. He dedicated 31 years of his life to his profession, working as a sixth-grade wagon inspector-repairman at the Wagon Division of the Zhmerinka station.
On February 25, 2022, on the second day of the full-scale invasion, Oleksandr voluntarily joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine, unwavering in his decision to defend his homeland.
Oleksandr Vasylovych Holub, a wagon inspector-repairman, gave his life for the freedom of Ukraine. Since April 3, 2023, he had been considered missing in action after fierce battles in the city of Bakhmut, Donetsk region. It was only by court decision that the fact of his death was established (date of death: November 3, 2025). He was 49 years old.
Colleagues who worked with him in the same shift for nearly three decades remember Oleksandr as a sincere, open, and reliable person. He loved active recreation and was always ready to help friends and colleagues in any life situation.
Oleksandr is survived by his wife, mother, and son.
The team of the Wagon Division at the Zhmerinka station of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia" bows its head with indescribable pain and deep respect for Oleksandr Holub. His dedication to the homeland, many years of work, and great sacrifice will forever be etched in our hearts. Glory to the Ukrainian warrior!
