Oleksandr PRYKHODKO
Oleksandr Prykhodko joined the railway depot in Dniprovske-Vuzol of the Dnipro Railway in 2002. He dedicated 22 years of his life to working on the railway, serving as a wagon inspector and repairman.
According to the section master Ruslan Streltsov, Oleksandr was dependable, diligently performed his duties, and could be entrusted with the most responsible tasks. Colleagues often sought not only his professional advice but also life guidance.
Wagon inspector and repairman Oleksandr Prykhodko sustained fatal injuries on May 15, 2024, as a result of a missile strike. The 51-year-old railway worker was on duty, working in the technical maintenance area of the Dniprovske-Vuzol wagon depot.
His daughter, Tetiana, remembers her father: “He was very cheerful and sociable – the life of the party, loved jokes. He was always willing to help family, friends, and colleagues. He loved his job, even though it was challenging, and was devoted to it. My father taught me to be strong, resilient, and ready for any surprises, to endure trials, even ones like this. He valued open, honest, and knowledgeable people (as he himself loved reading), who were ready to selflessly help others, just like him. He quickly found common ground with people. At home, my father loved to cook. He was particularly good at making pizza and cakes. He also enjoyed doing repairs to make our home beautiful and comfortable. He dreamed of traveling around Ukraine after retirement, as he hadn’t had the chance to do so in his youth.”
The Dniprovske-Vuzol wagon depot mourns this irreparable tragedy and expresses its deepest condolences to daughter Tetiana and the entire family of Oleksandr Prykhodko.
