Serhiy KHRISHCHENYUK

Serhiy Khrishchenyuk was born in the village of Kordyshivka in the Vinnytsia region. After graduating from the Zhytomyr Automobile Road Technical School, he worked at the Koziatyn Interdistrict Gas Management Office and studied at the Kyiv National University of Architecture and Construction. A year and a half before graduating, his father passed away, forcing him to leave his studies to be with his mother.

For 15 years, Serhiy worked as a 6th-grade repair mechanic at the Koziatyn locomotive depot of the Southern Railway regional branch. His colleagues remember him as a man of his word and action. There was no task that Serhiy could not handle. He was knowledgeable about technology and enjoyed repairing it.

In March 2024, Serhiy was mobilized into the Armed Forces of Ukraine, serving in the Kharkiv region.

Soldier Serhiy Khrishchenyuk was killed on May 23, 2024, while carrying out a combat mission in the city of Vovchansk in the Kharkiv region. He was 47 years old.

Acquaintances say that Serhiy was a person who combined a kind heart with a strong character. Neighbors described him as "Serhiy, the sun, not just a smile," because he was always cheerful.

Serhiy is survived by his son, mother, aunts, uncle, and nieces and nephews.

The team at the Koziatyn locomotive depot deeply mourns this irreparable loss and expresses sincere condolences to the family and loved ones of soldier Serhiy Khrishchenyuk. We will always remember him as a man of his word and action, whose courage and kind heart served as an example until his last breath. Eternal memory and honor to the Hero!
