Serhiy PODOBRIY

Serhiy was born in the village of Hiryne in the Bilopillia district of the Sumy region. He dedicated his life to the railway, working as a trackman at the Konotop railway division for 32 years (since 1993).

Colleagues remember him as a calm, kind, intelligent, and sensible person, a good friend. Throughout his career, Serhiy consistently completed tasks with quality and on time, earning the respect of his colleagues.

On February 13, 2023, devoted to his military oath, Serhiy took up arms to defend his homeland, bravely protecting his native land and giving a worthy resistance to the occupiers.

Serhiy, a trackman, was killed on January 21, 2024, while defending his homeland near the settlement of Avdiivka in the Donetsk region. His death resulted from a penetrating gunshot wound during enemy assault actions.

Serhiy is survived by his wife and two sons.

The team at the Konotop railway division of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia" bows their heads in profound sorrow and deep respect for Serhiy. His dedication to the homeland, kindness, and great sacrifice will remain an enduring light in our memory. Eternal memory and honor to our Hero!
