TIMOKHA Oleg
Oleg was born on February 1, 1983, in the village of Lazirky in the Poltava region. His path to the railway industry was deliberate and well-founded: in 2005, he graduated from the Ukrainian State Academy of Railway Transport, earning a master's degree in mechanics.
Oleg began his career that same year as a track installer. Thanks to his professionalism and perseverance, he quickly earned respect among both young specialists and experienced craftsmen. He dedicated over 20 years of his life to the railway, working as a first-category engineer on the defectoscope wagon No. 047 at the "Kharkiv Diagnostic Center." Colleagues will forever remember him as an energetic, disciplined person with an unparalleled sense of humor, who could find a solution to any difficult situation.
After the onset of the full-scale invasion, on May 25, 2023, Oleg Serhiyovych joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Senior Lieutenant Tymokha was not just a platoon commander—he was a true officer who cared for his soldiers. For his dedication and professionalism on the battlefield, he was nominated for an award—the badge of the Commander of the Joint Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine "For Service and Valor." Unfortunately, the Hero did not have the chance to receive it during his lifetime.
On December 6, 2025, on the Day of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, near the settlement of Lyman in Donetsk region, Oleg fought his last battle. While carrying out a combat mission, he displayed the highest courage—shielding his comrades and saving his subordinates at the cost of his own life.
The Hero is survived by his sister, Svitlana Serhiivna.
The team of the "Center for Railway Infrastructure Diagnostics" branch of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia" and all railway workers of Ukraine express their deepest condolences to his family and loved ones. We have lost not only a highly qualified specialist but also a great person with a brave heart. Eternal memory to the Hero!
