Yuriy MOROZ

Yuriy Moroz was born in the village of Oleksandrivka in the Kherson region. Before the war, he worked for 10 years at Ukrzaliznytsia, serving as a 5th-grade inspector-repairman for wagons at the Darnița operational wagon depot.

Since April 22, 2021, he had been serving under contract in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

41-year-old Senior Soldier Yuriy Moroz was killed on May 18, 2024, while defending the country near Vovchansk in the Kharkiv region.

His colleagues remembered him as a very kind and compassionate person. They recalled that he never refused to help others. Yuriy dreamed of building a house and living in it with his family. He said he needed to protect not only his mother and wife but also ensure that other mothers and wives could sleep peacefully without worrying about their children.

The hero was laid to rest in the town of Vyshneve in the Kyiv region.

Yuriy is survived by his wife and mother.
