Pavlo Heorhiyovych was born on July 22, 1962, in the village of Sursko-Lytovske (Sursko-Kleve) in the Dnipropetrovsk region, later residing in Kryvyi Rih. He dedicated his life unconditionally to the steel railways: his total experience in railway transport amounted to an impressive 42 years, of which he devoted 33 years to his native enterprise.
Pavlo Heorhiyovych began his railway journey in September 1983. Since June 1993, his fate has been inextricably linked to the production unit "Verkhovtseve Wagon Depot" of the "UZ Vagon-Service" branch of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia." Over the decades, he worked as a locksmith repairing rolling stock, a train assembler in the wagon assembly shop, and since 2017, he held the position of a watchman in the equipment repair shop.
Colleagues remember Pavlo Heorhiyovych as a highly qualified, disciplined, and proactive worker. He performed all tasks with exceptional diligence and a strong sense of responsibility. His experience, dedication to work, and kindness earned him well-deserved respect within the team.
On August 16, 2026, around 17:42, during an enemy shelling of Kryvyi Rih, Pavlo Heorhiyovych was on duty at the Baturyn section of the wagon maintenance point at the Mudryona station. The injuries he sustained during the shelling were fatal. He died while on guard for the railway, remaining true to his duty until his last breath.
Pavlo Heorhiyovych left behind a strong and patriotic railway-military family. His wife, Svitlana Mykolayivna, continues to work as an operator at the centralization post at Kryvyi Rih Main station, while their two sons, Serhiy and Dmytro, are defending Ukraine with arms in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The team of the "Verkhovtseve Wagon Depot" and all railway workers of the regional branch "Dniprovsk Railway" of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia" express their deepest and sincerest condolences to his wife Svitlana Mykolayivna, to the defender sons Serhiy and Dmytro, and to all relatives, friends, and colleagues of Pavlo Heorhiyovych.
