Denys Chumak
Denys was born in the city of Korosten in the Zhytomyr region. He dedicated 15 years of his life to the railway, working as an assistant driver of an electric locomotive at the Korosten Locomotive Depot.
Colleagues remember him as a kind, meticulous, punctual, and hardworking man who loved his job, fast driving, and fishing. He built his house with his own hands and loved his daughter unconditionally.
On the third day of the full-scale invasion, February 26, 2022, Denys joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in a rifle unit, where he was an example of courage and dedication.
Denys was killed on February 6, 2023, while carrying out a combat mission in the area of the village of Novobakhmutivka in the Donetsk region.
Denys is survived by his mother, father, sister, and daughter.
The team at the Korosten Locomotive Depot of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia" deeply mourns the irreparable loss. His dedication to work and family is an example we will always remember.
