Oleksandr IVANCHENKO
On the morning of October 7, 2026, Russian troops launched a massive missile strike on the city of Pryluky in the Chernihiv region. An enemy missile hit a residential building, simultaneously taking the life of railway worker Oleksandr Serhiyovych Ivanchенко and his family. This treacherous attack became an unspeakable pain for the entire railway community of Poltava and Chernihiv regions.
Oleksandr was born on June 27, 1987, in the village of Burimka, Ichnia district, Chernihiv region. He began his working life with steel railways in June 2007, starting as a locomotive assistant at the locomotive depot in Hrebinka. Since June 2015, Oleksandr became part of the team at the motor car depot in Poltava, a branch of the "Suburban Passenger Company" of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia," where he progressed to become a diesel train driver in the operational department of the Hrebinka depot (RCP-12).
Over nearly two decades of work on the railway, Oleksandr Serhiyovych became an exceptional professional. In the depot, he was said to be one of those rare individuals whose hands could "speak" to machinery. His element was movement—mechanics, automobiles, the roar of engines, and the flawless operation of complex systems. In the memory of his colleagues, Oleksandr will forever be remembered as an extraordinarily sensitive, calm, balanced, and kind person who valued justice and responsibility above all.
In his civilian life, he loved his family endlessly and dreamed of traveling the world with his loved ones. The tragic morning of October 7 brutally shattered these dreams, leaving a deep wound in the hearts of all who knew him.
The fallen railway worker is survived by his mother Maria, brothers Vitaliy and Serhiy, and sister Tetiana.
The team at the motor car depot in Poltava and the branch of the "Suburban Passenger Company" of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia" shares the deep sorrow and unspeakable pain of this irreparable loss and expresses heartfelt condolences to the mother, brothers, sister, and loved ones of Oleksandr Ivanchенко. The bright memory of his sincere soul, skilled hands, dedication to the railway profession, and love for life will forever remain in our hearts.
Eternal and bright memory!
