Serhiy FEDORUK
Serhiy was born in the village of Ivankivtsi in the Vinnytsia region. He worked as a 4th class shooter in the Kozatyn military security team within the Kozatyn detachment of military security. He excellently fulfilled his duties in protecting railway cargo and property, dedicating four years of his life to this work.
He was an experienced warrior: he participated in the fourth wave of mobilization (57th Separate Motorized Brigade) and was demobilized in 2016. During the full-scale invasion, he was called back to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Initially, he served as a machine gun squad commander in the Luhansk direction, where he led about 40 personnel out of encirclement. After that, he was promoted to chief sergeant of a mortar battery and transferred to Bakhmut.
Serhiy was always friendly, smiling, and saw the positive in everything. Colleagues remember him as someone who was "born lucky."
Sergeant Serhiy Fedoruk died on November 14, 2022, from wounds sustained on the battlefield while performing a combat mission in the Donetsk region.
The defender was awarded the Presidential Award of Ukraine "For Participation in the Anti-Terrorist Operation," as well as the "For Military Service" medal, the "Dignity and Honor" badge, and the "Honorary Distinction" medal.
Serhiy is survived by his wife and son.
The team of the Kozatyn military security detachment of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia" honors the memory of their colleague with deep respect. Serhiy led 40 comrades out of encirclement, became a chief sergeant, and died as a Hero. His military feat, confirmed by numerous awards, and his sacrifice are our eternal duty to remember. Eternal memory and honor to our Hero!
