Serhiy PELESHKO

Serhiy, originally from Korsakov, worked as a trackman in the Pology track distance since June 2021.

That same year, Sergiy enlisted for contract service. He served as a senior driver in a motorized infantry company. The defender was posthumously awarded the Order of "For Courage" III degree.

56-year-old soldier Serhiy Peleshko was killed on November 7, 2022, during combat operations near the city of Bakhmut in the Donetsk region. His unit came under artillery fire while advancing to a position, and no one survived.

His wife, Nadiya, remembers him as a very kind and accommodating man. Before the war, Serhiy enjoyed growing wheat (a passion of his) and was a self-taught painter. Unfortunately, all his artworks remain in the occupied territory. His talent for painting has been passed down to his eldest granddaughter.

Serhiy is survived by his wife Nadiya, daughter Hanna, son Ihor, and four granddaughters.

The team at the Pology track distance of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia" mourns the memory of their colleague with deep sorrow. His heroism, recognized with an award, and the tragic loss of his personal works left in occupation serve as an unbreakable symbol of the struggle. Eternal memory to the Warrior!
