Taras HORLOVYI
Taras was born in the village of Chystopil in the Dnipropetrovsk region. He began his railway career, to which he dedicated over 27 years, in 1995. He worked as a boiler operator, a cargo and baggage receiver, and a train dispatcher at the Pyatykhatky-Stykova station of the Dnipro Directorate.
Station chief Olha Zubchynska recalls that he was the "soul of the team": cheerful, sociable, and focused and responsible at work, knowing his job perfectly and always responding to requests.
In September 2022, Taras joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. After a short training period, he fought in Donetsk, serving as a grenade launcher in a mechanized unit.
51-year-old soldier Taras Horlovyi was killed on November 16, 2022, from a gunshot wound while carrying out a combat mission near the village of Spirne in the Donetsk region.
The hero was buried with honors at the Alley of Glory in the city of Pyatykhatky.
Taras is survived by his 84-year-old father Hryhoriy Mykhailovych and his sister Iryna.
The team of the Dnipro Directorate of Railway Transport of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia" mourns the memory of their colleague with profound sorrow. Our train dispatcher with 27 years of experience, who was the "soul of the team," cheerful and an excellent specialist, joined the Armed Forces and fell.
