Vitaliy Hlushko
Locksmith for inspection and repair of locomotives at the "Kharkiv-Sorting Locomotive Depot" production unit of the "Locomotive Company" branch of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia."
Work experience in the railway sector — 13 years and 10 months.
He died on June 5, 2026, defending the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine while performing a combat mission in the Donetsk direction.
Vitaliy was born in the village of Cherkaska Lozova in the Kharkiv region. After finishing school, he studied at the Lyubotyn Professional Lyceum, where he obtained qualifications as a locksmith for rolling stock repair, and as an assistant driver for diesel and electric locomotives.
He began his railway career in 2010 as a locksmith for rolling stock repair at the Passenger Car Depot Kharkiv-Sorting. Colleagues remember him as a disciplined, responsible, and conscientious worker.
Vitaliy Viktorovych was a kind and bright person, sincerely devoted to his work and to Ukraine. He was deeply respected by his colleagues and served as an example for younger staff.
With the onset of the full-scale invasion, on October 16, 2022, he did not hesitate to take up arms in defense of his homeland. Even during short breaks between combat actions, he found time to support his family, friends, and colleagues, showing interest in their lives and sharing his experiences.
Vitaliy is survived by his wife, Viktoriya Mykolaivna, and his daughter, Alina, who is only 5 years old.
We express our sincere and heartfelt condolences to his family and loved ones. The staff of the locomotive depot mourns deeply for this irreparable loss.
