Yevhen KATYKHIN

Yevhen was born in Dnipropetrovsk. He graduated from Vocational School No. 2 in Pavlohrad. In 2019, he began working on the railway as a trackman in the Pavlohrad railway section.

In March 2022, Yevhen volunteered to join the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served as a senior sapper in the sapper unit of the engineering-sapper platoon. In April 2022, he was wounded.

34-year-old soldier Yevhen Katykhin was killed on January 7, 2023, near the city of Huliaipole in the Zaporizhzhia region.

His wife Anna recalls that Yevhen was a very hardworking and diligent worker both at his job and at home. He loved fishing and took care of the car. He dreamed of taking his children to the sea after the victory.

Yevhen is survived by his wife, a 14-year-old son Maksym, and a 10-year-old daughter Vika.

The team at the Pavlohrad railway section of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia" mourns and honors the memory of their colleague with deep sorrow and respect. Our trackman, who was a diligent worker, a loving father, and an avid fisherman, volunteered to join the Armed Forces of Ukraine and fell as a Hero. His dedication, courage, and unfulfilled dream of a trip to the sea with his children are a constant reminder of the price he paid. Eternal memory and Glory to the defender!
