Andriy Tereshchak

Andrii Treshchak was born on April 30, 1995, in the city of Uzhhorod, Zakarpattia region. His childhood and youth were spent in his hometown, surrounded by loved ones. A boy of short stature, with a friendly gaze and curly hair, he distinguished himself from an early age by his big heart and sense of responsibility. For his mother, Andrii was always an indispensable helper and a reliable support, while for his younger sister and brother, he was a caring and exemplary older brother.

After completing his education, Andrii was drafted for mandatory military service, which strengthened his character. Understanding the importance of defending his homeland, he underwent training at the "Desna" training center, where he mastered the specialty of a gunner for the ZU 23-2m anti-aircraft installation.

When the first threat loomed over Ukraine, Andrii did not remain on the sidelines. On August 15, 2015, during the sixth wave of mobilization, he voluntarily enlisted among the defenders. From November 27, 2015, his military journey continued as part of the renowned 80th Separate Air Assault Brigade. The main base of the unit was located in the village of Dyenizhnykove in the Starobilsk district of Luhansk region. At the site of a former children's camp, Andrii spent days, weeks, and months carrying out combat missions at the very beginning of the Anti-Terrorist Operation. He also served in many other hot spots in Donetsk region, returning in October 2016, safe and sound, with a combat participant certificate.

Upon returning to civilian life, Andrii graduated from the Uzhhorod Professional Machine Engineering College, where he studied to become an electrician. In April 2017, he tied his fate to the railway, working as a trackman for the Uzhhorod track distance. Thanks to his perseverance and hard work, he studied for the position of foreman while continuing to work, achieving a high 5th category. Colleagues sincerely loved the young, cheerful, and energetic trackman. With his arrival, the team became significantly more disciplined—Andrii always attributed this to his military background, building relationships with people based on mutual respect, honesty, and a constant readiness to help in difficult times.

With the onset of the full-scale invasion of Russian troops into Ukraine, Andrii Treshchak did not hesitate to once again defend his homeland, continuing his service under contract. According to an order dated March 4, 2022, he was released from civilian work to fulfill his most important duty—defending his country.

Military Sergeant Andrii Oleksandrovych Treshchak became the commander of a rifle squad in the rifle platoon of the rifle company of the 1st Battalion of the Territorial Defense of military unit A7029. A brave, determined, and loyal commander, he defended the sovereignty, freedom, and territorial integrity of Ukraine until his last breath.

On March 1, 2026, in a fierce battle for the independence of our state near the settlement of Ulanove in Sumy region, Sergeant Andrii Treshchak was killed, remaining faithful to the Ukrainian people.
