Artem CHABANIUK
Artem was born in the city of Kremenchuk in the Poltava region, where he grew up, dreamed, and made plans for the future. He consciously decided to connect his life with steel highways: after finishing school, he enrolled in the Kremenchuk College of Transport Infrastructure. Having successfully obtained the qualification of a technician-electromechanic, in February 2018, he began his career at the Pomichna locomotive depot.
Starting as a repairman for rolling stock, within a few months, Artem took on the role of assistant locomotive driver in the production unit "Pomichna Locomotive Depot" of the "Locomotive Company" branch of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia." He dedicated over 8 years of his life to the railway, earning undeniable respect among his colleagues due to his hard work, responsibility, and genuine desire for professional growth.
"Artem was extremely responsible in fulfilling his duties and always tried to learn from older colleagues to be worthy of the title of railway worker. He was diligent, sincere, and held great respect among our entire team."
When his homeland found itself in danger, Artem did not hesitate. Being a true patriot, on October 27, 2021, he joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in military unit A2227 as a sergeant. Since June 27, 2023, Artem directly participated in combat operations, bravely facing danger. On the front lines, he proved himself to be a reliable comrade, a strong leader, and a devoted defender, ready to give everything for the free future of his homeland.
The greatest joy, pride, and universe for Artem was his family. The Hero is survived by his beloved wife and two young daughters, for whom he will forever remain the best, bravest father in the world.
The team at the Pomichna locomotive depot and the entire large family of railway workers at JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia" express their heartfelt condolences to Artem's family. We share this indescribable pain of irreparable loss with you.
The light memory of Artem Mykolayovych—a good colleague, loyal friend, loving husband and father, and brave warrior—will forever live in our hearts.
Eternal memory and honor to the Hero!
