Ivan Shevchyk

Ivan Ivanovych was born on May 1, 1985, in the village of Dobronadiivka, Oleksandriia district, Kirovohrad region. He began his professional journey in the railway industry in 2019, starting as a 3rd category locksmith for rolling stock repair in the current repair shop (PR-1). His desire for development and love for the steel highways led him to the locomotive cab by the end of 2019 — he became an assistant driver and later a train driver of the electric locomotive at the operational unit "Locomotive Depot Znamianka" of the "Locomotive Company" branch of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia."

During seven years of dedicated work, Ivan Ivanovych established himself as a diligent, highly skilled, and responsible specialist, someone who could always be relied upon during the most challenging journeys. Colleagues remember him as an extraordinarily kind, sincere, and compassionate person. He was always ready to lend a helping hand, offer advice, and share responsibility with his team members. His humanity, hard work, and dedication to the railway profession earned him deep respect from the entire team.

On August 13, 2026, while performing his duties in the Odesa region, the railway worker's life was tragically cut short due to enemy shelling — a strike by a reactive drone on the station of Buialyk. Ivan Ivanovych died at his workplace, remaining faithful to his profession and country until his last breath.

Ivan is survived by a loving family, who regarded him as a reliable support and pride: his father, brother, and wife Zarina.
