Mark HONCHARENKO
Mark was born in the city of Dniprodzerzhynsk (now Kamianske) in the Dnipropetrovsk region, where he lived. He had vocational training as a bricklayer and installer. He worked as a track installer in the Verkhovtseva track distance.
Mark had significant combat experience. In 2014-2015, he defended the country during the first wave of the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO) and later served under contract twice. In the first days of the full-scale invasion, he volunteered to join the military. He served as a shooter-assistant to a grenade launcher in a mountain assault unit.
44-year-old senior soldier Mark Honcharenko was killed on June 25, 2022, in battle from shrapnel wounds near the village of Potyomkine in the Kherson region.
His wife Victoria recalls that Mark was very quick and skilled at work, always cheerful and smiling, loved holidays and outings in nature. Family—his wife and son Daniil—was always his top priority.
Mark is survived by his wife and son.
The team at the Verkhovtseva track distance of the regional branch "Dniprovsk Railway" of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia" mourns the memory of their colleague with deep sorrow. This track installer, ATO veteran, and contractor volunteered to go to the front. His readiness to help, professional skill, and dedication to family and homeland will remain an example. Glory to the Defender!
