Vitaly Sapeha

The railway community and the team of the Dnipro squad of the militarized security service bow their heads in deep sorrow. Our colleague, a brave warrior and loving father, Vitaliy Sapega, gave his life for his homeland.

Vitaliy was born in Zaporizhzhia, in the village of Ulyanivka. After becoming a certified electric gas welder, he developed the character traits typical of this profession: precision, composure, and reliability.

In October 2019, he joined the team of the militarized security service in Zaporizhzhia (JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia"). Colleagues remember him as a dependable friend: not one for many words, but always ready to lend a hand.

A diligent worker: balanced and disciplined, for whom honesty was an internal law.

In March 2021, even before the full-scale invasion began, Vitaliy made a conscious choice — to become a professional defender of Ukraine. His combat journey was filled with trials: he was wounded twice, but each time, after recovering, he returned to his comrades at the front.

On April 22, 2026, while carrying out a combat mission, the heart of the Hero stopped due to an attack by an enemy FPV drone. He died protecting each of us.

Outside the battlefield, Vitaliy was a bright and sincere person who loved his family above all. He lived for his wife, Marina, and their two children — daughter Varvara and son Timur. It was for their peaceful childhood that he chose the path of a warrior.

"He was our support, a person of true inner strength. His death is a painful wound for the entire 'iron family'."

We express our deepest condolences to the family, friends, and comrades of Vitaliy Volodymyrovych. May the Lord grant them strength to bear this heavy loss.
