Oleksandr Kryzskyi
On October 2, 2026, Oleksandr Kryzskyi, an assistant diesel locomotive engineer, tragically lost his life when an enemy drone struck a railway crew car located at the KMS-261 facility.
Oleksandr was born on January 12, 1971, in Pervomaisk, Luhansk region. He began his railway career back in 1989 as an assistant diesel locomotive engineer at the Debaltseve-Sortuvalna Locomotive Depot of the Donetsk Railway. He dedicated his entire life to the railway. Following the full-scale invasion by the Russian Federation, he relocated to Odesa in 2024, where he continued his work as an assistant diesel locomotive engineer at the Odesa-Sortuvalna Locomotive Depot, a branch of the "Locomotive Company" of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia".
Oleksandr will be remembered as a responsible, reliable, and disciplined professional. His attentiveness, expertise, and dedication to his profession repeatedly guided his crew through difficult runs. For his colleagues, Oleksandr was not just a dependable partner in the driver's cab, but a kind and compassionate person, always ready to lend a helping hand at a moment's notice. He was deeply respected for his professionalism, diligence, perseverance, honesty, responsibility, and sincerity.
He is survived by his wife, daughter, and son.
