Oleksandr Luhovyi

Oleksandr Luhovyi was born in the city of Zorynsk in the Perevalskyi district of Luhansk region. Here, he spent his childhood and youth, where his life values, dreams, and plans for the future were formed.

His journey in the railway industry began in August 2020 when he decided to tie his fate to the steel highways. Oleksandr started working as a locksmith for the repair of rolling stock at the technical maintenance point for wagons at the Berehova station (a production unit of the "Operational Wagon Depot Odesa-Zastava 1"). By November of the same year, he took on the role of a wagon inspector-repairman.

After structural changes and the integration of wagon service employees into the "Operator of Port Stations" branch of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia," Oleksandr continued to diligently work as a 6th-grade wagon inspector-repairman at the Berehova station starting in August 2024.

For his colleagues, Oleksandr was not just a professional in his field but a reliable support. Sincere, honest, and always ready to lend a helping hand or offer wise advice, he was a true example for the team. His humanity, openness, and kind character will forever remain in the hearts of all who had the honor of working and walking life's path alongside him.

In his free time, Oleksandr was genuinely passionate about fishing. He was a true professional in this activity and, at the first opportunity, joyfully organized gatherings by the water with friends, creating warm memories for his loved ones.

When war came to his homeland, Oleksandr stood up to defend it.

On February 10, 2026, while carrying out a combat mission on the outskirts of the city of Kostiantynivka in the Kramatorsk district of Donetsk region, he was killed in battle for Ukraine, defending its sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Until his last breath, he remained faithful to his military oath, his people, and Ukraine.

The bright memory of Oleksandr Luhovyi—a brave Warrior, devoted railway worker, and compassionate person—will forever live in our hearts.
