The Donetsk Railway Community and the entire team of Ukrzaliznytsia have suffered a heavy, irreparable loss. At the age of 56, the life of a dedicated employee, a high-class leader, a loving husband, father, and grandfather was cut short due to enemy shelling in the combat zone.
Anatoliy Yakovych was born on February 24, 1971, in the city of Donetsk. In 2018, he tied his fate to the railway industry, starting his career as an engineer in the production and technical department at the "Lyman Locomotive Depot" of the regional branch "Donetsk Railway" of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia."
Thanks to his high professionalism, organizational skills, and initiative, Anatoliy Yakovych became the head of the health facilities department of the production staff at the "Administrative and Economic Service" of the regional branch "Donetsk Railway" in 2020. Over eight years of diligent work, he cared for the health and recreation of railway workers and their families, investing his whole soul into this endeavor.
Colleagues remember him as an exceptionally responsible, calm, sincere, and kind worker who was always ready to help, offering advice or assistance. His humanity and deep wisdom left an indelible bright mark in the hearts of all who had the honor of working alongside him.
On July 24, 2026, Anatoliy Yakovych's life was tragically cut short in the city of Sloviansk, Donetsk region, due to severe injuries caused by an explosion and debris during enemy shelling. Until his last day, he remained in his native Donetsk, faithfully fulfilling his duties.
Anatoliy Yakovych is survived by a loving family, which was the main meaning of his life: a wife, two daughters, and a granddaughter.
The team of the "Administrative and Economic Service" of the regional branch "Donetsk Railway" of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia" expresses its sincerest and deepest condolences to the wife, children, granddaughter, relatives, and close ones of Anatoliy Yakovych.
