Yuriy IVANYSHCHIV
On October 5, 2026, at the St. Panteleimon Hospital in Lviv, the life of warrior-defender and railway worker Yuriy Volodymyrovych Ivanyshchiv was cut short due to severe injuries sustained while carrying out a combat mission in the Kharkiv region. He was only 30 years old.
Yuriy was born on May 6, 1996, in the picturesque village of Lavochne in the Skole district of Lviv region. In June 2018, he joined the large railway family. Over eight years of dedicated service on the railway, he established himself as an exceptionally diligent, responsible, and professional worker, earning sincere respect and authority among his colleagues.
From the first days of the full-scale war, on March 2, 2022, Yuriy enlisted in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served as a private, operating unmanned aerial vehicles in the remote aerosol masking company of military unit A52097. At the front, he carried out complex and responsible tasks to protect our units and logistical routes from enemy attacks.
On September 17, 2026, while constructing engineering structures for anti-drone protection of the roadway near the village of Velykyi Burluk in the Kupiansk district of Kharkiv region, Yuriy was struck by an enemy UAV and sustained severe blast injuries. Doctors in Lviv fought for his life for weeks, but the injuries proved to be incompatible with life.
Despite his young age, Yuriy Volodymyrovych became a true support for many people. Colleagues and comrades will remember him as an extraordinarily cheerful, sincere, open, and deeply humane individual, whose kindness and willingness to lend a helping hand will remain a bright beacon for all who had the honor of knowing him.
We express our deepest condolences to the family, loved ones, comrades, and colleagues of the fallen Warrior.
The team of Lviv Railway of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia" deeply mourns the irreparable loss and bows its head in honor of the Hero's feat. The bright memory of Yuriy Ivanyshchiv, his youth, kindness, and courage will forever live in our hearts.
Eternal glory and honor to the Hero!
