Sergiy Zhadko

It is with deep sorrow that we announce an irreparable loss. The death of our colleague, defender of Ukraine, employee of the "Shevchenkivska Distance of Track" production unit of the regional branch "Odesa Railway" of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia," Serhii Viktorovych has been confirmed.

Serhii Zhadko was born on January 12, 1975, in the village of Pliakivka, Kamianske district, Cherkasy region. He studied at Pliakivka Secondary School. From an early age, he stood out for his diligence, responsibility, and sincere attitude towards people.

On April 15, 2002, he began his work at the Shevchenkivska Distance of Track as a track installer. Over more than two decades of diligent work, he earned the respect of colleagues and management as a disciplined, dedicated employee, a true professional, and a reliable friend. He is remembered as a cheerful person with a kind heart and a wonderful sense of humor, who knew how to support others in difficult times and create an atmosphere of understanding and kindness around him.

Family held a special place in Serhii's life. Together with his wife, he raised two daughters, whom he loved immensely and was proud of. For his loved ones, he was a loving husband, caring father, loyal friend, and reliable support. He was always ready to help, known for his openness, sincerity, and humanity.

After the full-scale war began, Serhii did not remain on the sidelines of defending his homeland. On February 4, 2025, he was called up to the Armed Forces of Ukraine under general mobilization. During his service, he demonstrated courage, resilience, bravery, and unwavering dedication to the Ukrainian state. On July 24, 2025, while carrying out a combat mission in the vicinity of the settlement of Novoukrainka in the Volnovakha district of Donetsk region, Serhii was part of his unit. Due to an attack by an enemy FPV drone, communication with him was lost. Since then, he was considered missing under special circumstances while defending Ukraine.

Serhii Zhadko remained faithful to his military oath, the Ukrainian people, and his duty as a defender until his last breath. In September 2026, his death was confirmed.

In mourning for the fallen, he is survived by his wife and two daughters, relatives, friends, comrades, and colleagues.

The team of the Shevchenkivska Distance of Track expresses sincere and deep condolences to the family and loved ones of Serhii Viktorovych. We bow our heads in sorrow and gratitude before the feat of our colleague, who gave the most precious thing for the freedom, independence, and future of Ukraine.
