Vasyl LEHENKYKH
Vasyl was born in the village of Lisna Tarnovytia, Ivano-Frankivsk region, and lived in the town of Deliatyn. He worked as a mechanic repairing rolling stock at the Klепарів operational railway depot.
From the first day of the full-scale invasion, Vasyl joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine, serving as a sniper.
59-year-old Junior Sergeant Vasyl Lehenkykh was killed on June 16, 2022, during a massive artillery shelling near the village of Roti in Donetsk region.
Posthumously, he was awarded the Order of "For Courage" of the III degree. The fallen hero was buried in his hometown of Deliatyn in Ivano-Frankivsk region.
Vasyl is survived by his wife Halyna Vasylivna, daughters Iryna and Diana, and son Denys.
The team at the Klепарів operational railway depot of the regional branch "Lviv Railway" of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia" mourns the memory of their colleague with deep sorrow. His courage and unwavering dedication, honored with the Order of "For Courage," will remain an eternal example. Eternal memory to the Defender!
