Viktor LYAKH

Viktor began his career on the railway on February 23, 2022, just a day before the full-scale invasion. He held the position of track maintenance worker at the 6th section of the Yakovlivka production unit of the Oleksandriia track distance.

On February 26, 2022, Viktor was mobilized into the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He remained faithful to his military oath until his last breath.

Viktor Lyakh died on June 26, 2022 (the date is approximate, as it follows shortly after his mobilization) in battle for our homeland, demonstrating resilience and courage in the village of Maloryazantseve in the Luhansk region.

Viktor is survived by his wife Iryna and daughter Oksana, who was born after her father's death and whom he will never see.

The team at the Oleksandriia track distance of the regional branch "Odesa Railway" of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia" mourns the memory of their colleague with deep sorrow. This young track maintenance worker, who barely started his job on the railway, was mobilized on the third day of the war and fell in Luhansk. His greatest sacrifice is not witnessing the birth of his own daughter. The bright memory of Viktor Lyakh will forever remain in the hearts of his loved ones and colleagues. Eternal glory to the Hero!
