Volodymyr Hryhorenko

Volodymyr Ivanovych Hryhorenko gave the most precious thing he had ˗ his life, defending the freedom, independence, and territorial integrity of Ukraine. When he stood up to protect his homeland, he honorably fulfilled his military duty, remaining true to his military oath, his comrades, and the Ukrainian people. Courage, responsibility, and dedication to his cause were not just words for him, but life principles to which he remained faithful until his last breath.
On May 4, 2025, Volodymyr Ivanovych was killed while carrying out a combat mission near the settlement of Oleksandropil in the Kramatorsk district of Donetsk region as a result of an enemy assault. His life was tragically cut short on the battlefield, where he fulfilled his duty as a defender of Ukraine until the end.
Volodymyr Ivanovych dedicated a significant part of his life to the railway. He began his career at the Southern Railway in September 2006, working as a track layer of the 4th category in the production unit "Kupiansk Track Distance" of the regional branch "Southern Railway." Over the years, he established himself as a disciplined, hardworking, and responsible employee who approached his duties with diligence.
Colleagues knew Volodymyr as a friendly and open person with a good sense of humor. He enjoyed well-deserved authority and respect among the management and employees of the track distance. Volodymyr actively participated in the social life of the labor collective, always remaining concerned about the people and events happening around him. He was distinguished by his responsibility, integrity, diligence, and sincere attitude towards his colleagues.
Volodymyr Ivanovych is survived by his wife and underage daughter. For his relatives, friends, comrades, colleagues, and all who knew Volodymyr Ivanovych, he will forever remain a loving husband and father, a reliable friend, a good and sincere colleague, and a brave defender of Ukraine. The bright memory of him will live not only in the hearts of his closest ones but also in the memory of all who knew him and were fortunate to walk part of life's journey alongside him.
