Volodymyr HUBSKYI

On September 1, 2026, at 02:21, a heavy tragedy occurred during a treacherous ballistic missile strike on the territory of the "Darnița Locomotive Depot." The enemy shelling happened almost simultaneously with the alarm signal, depriving railway workers of the opportunity to reach a safe place in time. After sustaining severe injuries on the way to the shelter, the heart of Vladimir Vasylovych Hubskyi, a locksmith specializing in locomotive inspection and repair, stopped on September 6, 2026. He was only 31 years old.

Vladimir was born in the village of Velyka Dymerka in the Brovary district of Kyiv region. In 2020, he tied his fate to the steel highways by starting work at the locomotive maintenance point of the Darnița depot, a branch of the "Locomotive Company" of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia."

For six years, Vladimir Vasylovych diligently cared for the reliability of railway machines, working as a 4th category locksmith. He was known in the depot as an exceptionally diligent, disciplined, and responsible specialist. He had a special trait—an open heart and a wonderful sense of humor, which often lifted the spirits of the entire team during the toughest shifts.

Fate tested Vladimir from a young age—he grew up an orphan, yet he never lost his love for life and compassion for others. His closest and dearest were his aunt and cousin, for whom this sudden loss has become an unspeakable pain.

The team at the "Darnița Locomotive Depot," a branch of the "Locomotive Company" of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia," deeply mourns the irreparable tragedy and expresses sincere condolences to Vladimir Hubskyi's aunt, cousin, and all his relatives and friends.

The bright memory of his dedication to the railway, honest work, and sincere smile will forever remain in our hearts.
