Yaroslav MILYAR
Yaroslav was born in the city of Kolomyia, Ivano-Frankivsk region. He dedicated his life to the railway, starting his career in 1989 as a trackman for the Kolomyia distance. Later, after obtaining a relevant education, he worked as a station master in Kolomyia. After being transferred to the Dnipro Railway, he progressed from engineer to chief engineer and head of the publishing center "Dnipro." Colleagues remember that he always cared about the results of his work, put in effort, and worked alongside his subordinates.
On July 29, 2020, Yaroslav enlisted for contract service. He served as the commander of the 3rd mechanized section and the commander of the vehicle for the 1st mechanized platoon in the 2nd mechanized battalion.
52-year-old Senior Sergeant Yaroslav Milyar was killed in action on June 23, 2022, during a battle near the village of Brazhkivka in the Izium district of Kharkiv region.
He was posthumously awarded the Order of "For Courage" III class.
Yaroslav is survived by his wife Natalia and children Sofia, Bohdan, and Polina.
The team of the Dnipro Railway and the publishing center "Dnipro" of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia" mourns the memory of their colleague with deep sorrow. This experienced railway worker, who rose from trackman to leadership positions, consciously chose contract service and fell in a fierce battle in Kharkiv region as the commander of a mechanized section. His responsibility, courage, and readiness to defend his homeland, recognized by the Order of "For Courage," exemplify loyalty to duty. Eternal glory to the Hero!
