Yuriy HULCHUK
Yuriy was born in the village of Khoriv in the Rivne region and lived in the city of Khrystynivka in the Cherkasy region. He worked as a 4th category locksmith for the repair of rolling stock at the Khrystynivka motor depot. He dedicated nearly 14 years to his work on the railway. Colleagues remembered him as a diligent worker and a good mentor, and he participated in football competitions.
39-year-old Yuriy Hulchuk died on June 19, 2022, in the city of Izium in the Kharkiv region.
Yuriy was a great patriot of Ukraine. In 2014, he volunteered to fight, serving as a scout in the reconnaissance platoon. For his courage and bravery, he was awarded the "Defender of the Fatherland" medal and the "For Courage" Order of the 3rd class. Since March 7, 2019, he continued his service under contract, serving as the commander of the rigging section in the security battalion.
Yuriy is survived by his wife Yuliya and son Vladyslav.
The team at the Khrystynivka motor depot of the "Suburban Passenger Company" branch of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia" honors the memory of their colleague. His unwavering faith in victory, conscious choice to become a volunteer, and later a contractor—this is a moral legacy for the entire railway family. Eternal glory to the Hero!
