Bohdan Lenda
25-year-old soldier Bohdan Lenda, a shooter-operator of a mechanized battalion, was killed on October 12, 2023, near the settlement of Vodiane in Donetsk region. For several months, he was considered missing in action until the tragic news of his death was confirmed in May 2024. Bohdan was just a few days short of his 26th birthday.
Bohdan was born in the city of Synelnykove in Dnipropetrovsk region. Since 2016, he worked as a wagon inspector-repairman at the operational wagon depot of Nyzhniodniprovsk-Vuzol. He dreamed of starting his own business and getting married.
Colleagues remember him as an honorable person with a strong sense of justice, distinguished by a high level of professional training and a responsible attitude towards work. He was kind and empathetic, always willing to help and assist his younger brother and sister with their homework. His mother, Tetiana Volodymyrivna, recalls that he loved to cook, especially "buckwheat in the merchant style."
Bohdan voluntarily joined the military recruitment office in March 2022, calling this decision conscious and irreversible. During his service, he was wounded twice.
Bohdan is survived by his mother Tetiana Volodymyrivna, older brother Oleksii, twelve-year-old sister Maryhita, and younger brother Kyrylo.
The team at the operational wagon depot of Nyzhniodniprovsk-Vuzol of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia" honors Bohdan Lenda with deep respect and unspeakable sorrow. To the hero of Ukraine — our everlasting tribute!
