Dmytro LOPATA
For 6 years, Dmytro dedicated himself to the railway. His work was inextricably linked to the production unit "Locomotive Depot Znamianka" of the "Locomotive Company" branch of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia," where he served as an assistant locomotive driver. Colleagues remember him as a reliable, disciplined, and responsible friend, always ready to lend a helping hand in difficult times.
Dmytro Vyacheslavovych had immense combat experience: he fought fiercely during the Anti-Terrorist Operation in eastern Ukraine, for which he was awarded the Presidential Award of Ukraine "For Participation in the Anti-Terrorist Operation," the "Participant of ATO" medal, and the "Veteran of War" medal.
With the onset of the full-scale enemy invasion, on June 2, 2022, he rejoined the Armed Forces of Ukraine. His exceptional courage, professionalism, and dedication in military intelligence were recognized with state and international awards, including the Ukrainian military intelligence badge, the status of Combatant, the state order "For Courage" of the III degree, and the award from the Cabinet of Ministers of the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria.
On June 3, 2026, during the execution of another complex combat mission in Donetsk, the heart of the brave reconnaissance soldier ceased to beat. Dmytro remained true to his oath, his comrades, and the Ukrainian people until his last breath.
For his large family, he was a reliable support and pride. His loving wife Kateryna and two daughters—Ulyana and Amina—are left without a devoted husband and caring father.
His courage, indomitable will, and boundless love for his homeland will forever remain a magnificent example for future generations. We bow our heads in deep sorrow and express our endless gratitude for his immortal feat.
The team of the "Locomotive Depot Znamianka" of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia" extends its sincerest condolences to Dmytro Lopata's wife, children, parents, and all his loved ones. The bright memory of our colleague and great Hero will live on forever in the hearts of railway workers.
Eternal memory and honor to the Hero of Ukraine!
