Dmytro SHVETS

Dmytro Yakovych was born on August 25, 1981, in the city of Rivne. In 2001, he graduated from the Kharkiv Cooperative Technical School. He began his working career in 1996. He worked in various fields, and since 2022, he dedicated his life to the railway. From October 2022, he worked as a trackman in the production unit "Kharkiv Track Distance" of the regional branch "Southern Railway" of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia."

During his time at work, he established himself as a responsible, diligent, and hardworking employee. Colleagues knew Dmytro Yakovych as an honest, kind person who was always ready to help, genuinely cared about the team's work, and the railway.

Dmytro Yakovych's life was tragically cut short on September 28, 2025, as a result of an enemy strike from a drone on a civilian vehicle on the Slatyne–Kharkiv road. Dmytro sustained injuries incompatible with life while in his damaged car during the strike.

This insidious act of aggression took not only a railway worker but also a loving husband, a reliable friend, and a worthy citizen of Ukraine.

Dmytro is survived by his wife Liliya and two daughters, Kateryna and Veronika.

The team of the production unit "Kharkiv Track Distance" of the regional branch "Southern Railway" of JSC "Ukrainian Railways" mourns together with Dmytro's family. The bright memory of our colleague will forever remain in our hearts.
