Hanna BALVA
Hanna was born on November 26, 1983, in Nikopol. In 2014, she joined the railway family, becoming a conductor for suburban trains at the Nikopol motor depot. She dedicated 11 years of her life to her profession, ensuring the peace and comfort of passengers even during the most challenging times for the region.
Hanna Yuriyivna Balva, a passenger car conductor, tragically lost her life on January 16, 2026. Her life was cut short in her hometown of Nikopol during an enemy artillery shelling. This occurred on Hanna's day off when she was at home in a city that suffers daily from attacks but continues to live and work thanks to people like her.
Colleagues remember Hanna as an extraordinarily kind, sincere, and sensitive person. She was calm and balanced, diligently fulfilling her duties and actively participating in the community life of the depot. For her professional achievements and dedication, Hanna received numerous accolades from the depot and railway management.
In her free time, Hanna found peace and warmth in knitting. However, the greatest meaning of her life was her children. She was an inexhaustible source of love, care, and support for her daughter and son, doing everything possible for their happy future.
Hanna is survived by her mother, daughter, and son.
The team at the Nikopol motor depot of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia" bows their heads in profound sorrow and grief in memory of their colleague. We have lost not just a professional, but a bright woman, a loving mother, and a loyal friend. Her life has become yet another painful price our people pay for the right to live on their own land. Eternal memory to Hanna Yuriyivna. She will forever remain in our hearts.
