Igor Yaroshenko
Igor was born in the city of Konotop in the Sumy region. From his youth, he tied his fate to the railway, graduating from the Konotop Railway Transport Lyceum. His professional journey began back in 1990, and since then, for 36 years, he remained faithful to his chosen profession, dedicating most of his life to the railway.
Igor Mykolaiovych worked as a train driver on the Konotop section of the Chernihiv regional branch of the "South-Western Railway." Colleagues and friends remember him as a person of exceptional responsibility, a polite and communicative specialist who was always ready to help. They said of him: "He knew how to drive trains and how to live life—honestly, with dignity, and a deep sense of duty."
When the enemy came to his homeland, Ihor Mykolaiovych did not remain on the sidelines. On March 1, 2022, he was mobilized into the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Being a train driver by profession, he became a defender by calling. Igor bravely carried out combat missions on the front lines in the Kharkiv direction, firmly believing in a free and independent Ukraine and our shared Victory.
The life of the defender was cut short on December 3, 2025. Igor Mykolaiovych died while performing a combat mission in the city of Kharkiv, remaining true to his oath and his people until the very end.
His wife, Svitlana Oleksandrivna, is left in deep sorrow. The family lost a loving husband, and the railway lost a true master of his craft and a loyal comrade.
The team of the Chernihiv motor car depot and the entire railway community express their heartfelt condolences to the family and loved ones of Ihor Mykolaiovych. Glory to the Hero!
