Mykhailo Matiyiv
Mykhailo was born in the village of Tukhlya in the Lviv region. Before the war, he worked as a third-class locksmith for the operation and repair of gas equipment at the passenger car depot in Lviv, Ukrzaliznytsia.
On November 12, 2021, Mykhailo was released to serve under contract in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the sniper company of the 80th Separate Air Assault Brigade. After sustaining a shrapnel wound, he spent little time at home and quickly returned to carry out combat missions.
The life of 21-year-old soldier Mykhailo Matiyiv was cut short by an enemy mine. The defender was killed on October 25, 2023, near the village of Klishchiivka in the Donetsk region while performing a combat task.
For his personal bravery and selfless fulfillment of military duty, Mykhailo was posthumously awarded the "Defender of the Fatherland" medal and the Order of "For Courage" of the III degree.
Mykhailo is survived by his mother, Oksana Fedorivna.
