Mykola Albertovych Yelyzarov, a highly skilled railway worker and brave paratrooper, died on February 7, 2026, defending Ukraine in the Zaporizhzhia direction. The Hero's life was cut short while carrying out a combat mission due to a direct hit from an enemy FPV drone. He was 34 years old.

Mykola dedicated 14 years of his life to the railway. In 2011, he graduated from the Kyiv Railway Transport Technical School, after which he progressed from a locksmith to a top-tier, 6th-grade wagon inspector-repairman. Since the beginning of 2022, he worked at the Kyiv-Pasazhyrskyi railway depot, ensuring the technical condition of passenger trains. Colleagues remember him as an energetic and determined specialist who genuinely loved his work and dreamed of professional growth.

From Territorial Defense to Elite Brigades
Mykola did not wait for calm and, from the first months of the full-scale invasion, took up arms to defend the country:

In March 2022, he joined the ranks of the Territorial Defense in Khmelnytskyi. In October 2022, he was mobilized into the legendary 95th Separate Air Assault Brigade. According to his relatives, Mykola was extremely proud to serve among the renowned paratroopers. Later, he served in the 82nd Air Assault Brigade as a strike UAV operator.

Mykola was a true warrior at heart; he sustained serious injuries several times but always returned to his comrades after treatment and rehabilitation.

Outside of war and work, Mykola was an extremely cheerful man. His greatest pride and love were his sons Vladislav and Matviy, who were born in the tragic year of 2022.

"He was energetic, dreamed of building a future on the railway and, above all, wanted to see his sons in a peaceful country."

The team of the "Passenger Company" branch and the Kyiv-Pasazhyrskyi railway depot of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia" bows its head in profound sorrow and deep respect in memory of Mykola Yelyzarov. We have lost one of the best—both in profession and in battle. His courage, resilience, and ultimate sacrifice will forever remain in our hearts.

Eternal memory and glory to the Hero!
