Oleg ROMAN

Знам’янський загін воєнізованої охорони
26.02.1995 – 10.05.2024

Oleg Roman was born on February 26, 1995, in the city of Pomichna, Kirovohrad region. In 2019, he joined the railway service. He worked as a third-class shooter in the team of the militarized security of the Pomichna station in the Znamyanka squad of the "Departmental Militarized Security" branch.

That same year, he was drafted for mandatory military service. After six months, he signed a contract with a military unit to continue his service in Odesa. His last place of service was the 95th Separate Airborne Assault Polissya Brigade.

His railway colleagues knew him as a diligent and responsible worker who performed his duties carefully and effectively. They recall that Oleg was non-confrontational and always behaved with dignity. In his free time, he enjoyed football.

Alexander Luhvyshchik, the deputy head of the militarized security team, said: "During his time in the team at the Pomichna station, third-class shooter Oleg Roman distinguished himself exclusively positively. He successfully completed his training and mastered the educational material excellently. While performing his duties, he demonstrated perseverance and principledness. Colleagues spoke of him only well."

29-year-old senior soldier Oleg Roman was killed in battle on May 10, 2024, as a result of enemy shelling from a multiple launch rocket system. He was fulfilling his duty near the settlement of Nevske in the Luhansk region.

Oleg lived with his mother and stepfather.

The team of the Znamyanka militarized security squad received the tragic news of their colleague Oleg Roman's death with deep sorrow. We express our heartfelt support and condolences to his mother and stepfather, whose son gave his life for the freedom of Ukraine.
